Why do I act like I'm not a gamer? 🎮
X-O-X-O
It’s cute when controllers spell out kisses and hugs,
like some sort of plastic surrogate for squeezing our friends. As we spin around the joystick, communing with people
who don’t speak English (but laughter has no language). How are the memories we make while gaming, eyes brimming
with happy tears, so different from the “real” ones? You can’t touch virtual memories, but you can’t touch
the ones in your past, either. If it exists, it’s reality—and if it makes you happy,
embrace it.
I’m trying to rebalance myself after a few weeks of going too hard in every opposite direction, like I’m racing back and forth on a see-saw, trying to find the middle. I’m writing this note before diving back into a video game that I particularly love playing with my long-distance friend. I keep wondering: why do I have to judge myself so much for something I enjoy deeply?
