The words in between ✍️
Happy // Sad
We’ve dropped our vocab cards
in the hallway, they’re scattered
like paint chips, hues and tones
of “happy in a bad way,” and “sad
in a good way.” It’s easy to forget
all the shades of sentiment that lie
between the basics, but we have
a test coming up.It’s important to study
ourselves.
I’m working on more accurately describing how I feel; instead of “good” perhaps I can be exhilarated, or relieved, or accomplished. Instead of “bad” perhaps I’m depleted, overwhelmed, or simply thirsty. The right words can pinpoint the problem—so we can get to a solution.
