A gravitational friendship ðŸ”
Looking back, it was quite the discovery.
At the cafe where coffee
tasted like clay, we’d
caffeinate and convene
in an old Saturn for
a parking lot dance party.I feared taking up time/
energy/attention/patience,
even though it was exactly
what I wanted; she knew,
and she rose to me like a sun.I hope everyone gets to find her;
even if she’s not this specific iteration,
a galaxy disguised as a best friend.
When someone loves you
like that—space doesn’t
matter.
Today is one of my best friend’s birthdays! I’m clearly playing too much of a space video game she knows nothing about, but I’m feeling grateful for all the years we’ve spent expanding, exploring, and dancing like fools together. I can only wish that everyone gets a chance to find their own version of her. Happy birthday, bear 💛
