A constellation of small wins ⭐️
Anything can be an achievement
if you think about it:
brushing
teeth and hair,
setting an early
alarm, setting
my real alarm
for thirty
minutes later.
I achieve when I fall asleep,
drool-deep on a linen pillow.
I am not failing per se; just not yet
perceiving these freckles of success.
I finished a game mode in No Man’s Sky this week, and when I saw my reward—a golden spaceship—I felt proud of myself. Even if it’s not “real,” every minute of my experience spent reaching for it was very much so. It made me think of all the other successes we have every day, but don’t always take a moment to realize—or to celebrate.
