A change of climate 🌎
It feels like someone tossed the earth
into a plastic bag with the recyclables.
Rolling, we’re breathing—ah—
as best we can, our earsgetting used to the clamor
of old bean cans and beer bottles. That’s how I feel right now: pressed
against slimy corporate logos, squirmingmy way to the top to breathe,
but each time I’m in the clear, I wonderIs someone, somewhere else
suffocating?
It’s kind of all the things, isn’t it? The big things like climate change, and the small things like how I didn’t rinse the can of beans out enough before putting it into the recycling. So you’re telling me now I have that smell to contend with, AND a climate catastrophe? Anyways—go easy on yourself today, and make space for someone else to go easy too.
And please enjoy this shoddy picture of a bag made out of bags I crocheted a decade ago.
